CRADLE OF FILTH Frontman Issues Update

+ posted by FlamingWhopper

"On the live front, this last month or so has found COF playing several festivals across Europe in the midst of tying up a few loose ends and beginning to unravel others. Firstly, there was the weekend at the end of June that found the band driving all the way down to the North of Spain to play the Kobetasonik festival in Bilbao, strangely enough in the drizzle again. Here we hooked up with bands like GOJIRA, CRUCIFIED BARBARA, HOT LEG (Justin Hawkins is a really decent bloke in the flesh), MACHINE HEAD, DEVILDRIVER, CATHEDRAL and MARILYN MANSON, to name but a few, having received a police escort into the show for getting lost, with no real band casualties other than a totally inebriated Charles and a free bar that came under thorough attack from our unholy shambling entourage.

As word of STEEL PANTHER's return began to spread around the music community, a who's who of musical artists stepped up to join the band in reclaiming metals place among the top of the music landscape. Allison Robertson of THE DONNAS and Justin Hawkins from THE DARKNESS make an appearance on the STEEL PANTHER mantra number, "Party All Day". ANTHRAX's Scott Ian shows up on the soon-to-be international hit "Asian Hooker" alongside SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor, who also appears on the soon-to-be classics "Eyes Of A Panther" and the first single, "Death To All But Metal".

A controversial choice from the band that owned the globe for 12 months. Check out our other Albums of the Decade!

For a period of about a year, one band owned the globe. At a time when Nu-Metal had just died out and metalcore was enjoying its initial boom, it seemed totally incongruous that a band who embraced the best elements of Queen, Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC could take over the world (especially when their frontman sang with a crazy falsetto vocal and wore skin-tight spandex catsuits) but that’s exactly what happened in the aftermath of The Darkness releasing ‘Permission To Land’.

You've been working with Justin Hawkins, ex The Darkness and now Hot Leg - how did that happen? He's our producer. Amutual friend invited him to one of our shows and we asked him to produce one of our records. We did three songs and he introduced us to the guitar solo which has become quite important in our music.

He's been awesome and has given us a great album that I'm really proud of.

He knows how to bring the best out of your songs.
